i loved school...so i hated voting day cos my school was turned into a polling station and we had the day off...when i became a primary school teacher i loved voting day cos my school turned into a polling station and we had the day off...this is the local nursery school turned into a polling station yesterday when we voted for our members of the european parliament...i guess the teachers were happy!!!

did you notice on yesterday`s blog there were some men standing on the beach...well they are not men!!!

antony gormley is one of our great living artists and we are fortunate to have this amazing installation on the beach at waterloo/crosby...100 cast-iron life-size men are spaced out along 3 kilometers of beach and all look in the same direction out to sea...he used his own body to make the moulds

liverpool has a nice beach at waterloo...

the river mersey is very wide and opens into the irish sea...it seems like you are at the sea-side...even tho it is just a river...and there is a beautiful wind farm in the sea...today the tide was out

i am a bit suspicious of this place...

...it calls itself an `oriental buffet and korean fondue restaurant`...but there is no korean writing on the shop front...i guess it is chinese food in which case i won`t be going as i don`t like chinese food at all!!!

...is our new development of shops, restaurants, bars, entertainment, homes and offices...it has had mixed reviews of course...i think it has some nice architectural textures and angles

at home!!!

minnie has settled in well...she has been here for just one week and has already found the warmest place in the flat...the back of the sofa next to the radiator...when she is not sleeping she is running around and chasing her toys...a little charmer!!!

i borrrowed this dvd from the public library...the film is wonderful...it made me interested to read some haruki murakami and i found his `underground` in the library...this is about the sarin gas attacks on the tokyo subway...this has made me interested in what japanese people who i know were doing on the morning of monday 20 march 1995..i am going to ask them

milk floats were part of my childhood...delivering milk at very early hours and waking us with the chinking of glass bottles...i thought they had disappeared with supermarket milk taking over from the bottled variety...but there is at least one still in liverpool cos i saw this near my flat just the other day...i got a nostalgic feeling (natsukashii in japanese)
